The Diary of Susie King Taylor
Susie King, her brother, and sister learned how to read from a friend of her grandma's. When Susie was older she became a teacher on Saint Simons Island. Later she moved to South Carolina at Camp Saxton. During the war of Fort Gregg, Susie was a nures and a laundress. When she arrived home, she opened a school at her home. Before her son was born her husband died. She was traveling to New York when a boat collided with the boat she was on. Her boat was fine. On a scale of 1 (worst) to 10 (best) I give this book a rating of: 5
