I really liked reading this book. It was a real page turner. It was about these four boys who tried to climb Mt. Everest. There are a lot of struggles in climbing Mt. Everest. They get sick and run out of supplies. The four boys (Perry, Dominic, Eathan, and David) decide to … (the rest of the review was edited out by Mr. Roberts Because it gave away the ending)
You will have to read it to find out. This is a good book if you are into a survival books. I recommend this book for everyone.

Hiroshima by John Hersey

Hiroshima by John Hersey

I thought the book was cool because it tells 6 different prospectives on when the bomb drops , the aftermath, and how they recovered. The peoples names are Miss Toshiko Sasaki, Dr. Masakazu Fujll, Mrs. Hatsuyo Nakamura, father Kleinsorge, Dr. Terufmi Sasaki, and reverend Tanimoto. A hundred thousand people died buy these six survived. How many people described it was a white flash going through the sky and boom a huge shack and what ever houses were standing were now ruble. Everything around the sight of the bomb was engulfed in flames and that’s how 50% of the people died was from burns. After the fires had burned themselves out scientists who weren’t hurt started doing testing on what was in the bomb and why all these people got really sick. In the end of the chaos 25% of people died from radiation poisoning and all the others died from falling buildings or other factors.

The Winter of Red Snow by Kristiana Gregory

The Winter of Red Snow by Kristiana Gregory

Dear Team 7I

The title of the book I have just finished reading is called “The Winter of red Snow” and the author is Kristiana Gregory. “The Winter of Red Snow” was a fantastic book! I absolutely loved it! It is a reading book for grades 6-8. This book has 170 pages. This book takes place in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania in 1777. This book is about a 12-year-old girl named Abigail Jane Stewart. It is written as here diary. In the beginning, she experiences a new baby brother that is sick. She has nine siblings and not one boy has made it through the first winter. When I was reading this book, I was thinking about what the characters in this book were going through and how I could do what they do in the book. I felt sorry for Abby and here parents and siblings because they talked about their neighbors losing a loved one. In this book they talked about facts from the Revolutionary War and how they had to cut of soldiers feet when they had blood on their feet. I hope that Kristiana Gregory will write more books like this.

A boy at war by Harry Mazer

A boy at war by Harry Mazer

A boy at war is about a teenager named Adam who’s growing up in a military family. His dad is in the navy so the house is run like a ship. Since he’s a navy brat who travels he’s always been to schools where there were other military families, but now since he’s in Hawaii he’s surrounded by civilians. He has it rough fur the first few days, but this kid named Davi starts picking on him a little and oddly enough they end up being buds. So they start hanging around with all the other Hawaiian kids. You know, play football and go fishing. It seemed like it was going good but when he told his dad, he said that he didn’t want him to be hanging around them because there was a lot of friction between the U.S. and Japan and since over half of the population was Japanese that his dad didn’t want to take any chances. One day he doesn’t listen to his dad and goes fishing with Davi and one of his other Hawaiian friends. They decided to go fishing in Pearl Harbor. They were going to go fishing off the shore but they find a boat in the bushes. So they go out in the ocean and coincidentally the Japanese decide to attack while they are in the ocean. But that’s just the beginning. See where the war tales Adam from there…..
